The Deutsche Filmorchester Babelsberg does not only look back on a long tradition as Ufa and DEFA orchestra. Coproductions and concerts with Friedrich Hollaender, Hans Zimmer or Sting, Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Udo Lindenberg and Xavier Naidoo also show its unique flexibility. Whether classical, rock, pop or film music - the range of the orchestra will be presented at the FIRST NIGHT, where numerous artists will celebrate the orchestra's centenary.

Due to the huge demand among our audience we decided to re-launch the successful Wagner Night of 2007. Convinced Wagner fans, but also those who previously had not yet been familiar with the legendary composer have been very delighted at the time. The Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau and the Ernst Senff Chor, together with outstanding soloists, will perform a superb Wagner evening.

At the last evening of the festival we welcome two legends of the soul and funk era: Earth, Wind & Fire and special guest Sister Sledge will conclude the festival with classics of music history and bring their timeless hits onto the stage. Songs such as "Let's Groove" and "September" are not only known to fans of Earth, Wind & Fire. As supporting act Footprint Project will be performing on stage.
